To the Archdiocese of Detroit Catholic Deaf Community!
We strive to support a ministry where all Deaf individuals are invited to meet Jesus Christ and participate in the life of the Catholic Church using American Sign Language. We welcome everyone, including our hearing brothers and sisters, who want to experience the richness of our Deaf culture as well as deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, service and the Sacraments.
The Deaf Ministry in the Archdiocese of Detroit is one of the oldest in the United States. It was founded in 1914, and we are proud to be one of the largest Catholic Deaf communities in the country. It is my privilege to be the priest serving this vibrant and active Catholic Deaf Community. I hope our website will answer any questions you have about Deaf Ministry in the Archdiocese. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.
God bless.
